The Administrator's workbench (AWB)

, which is a tool used by Certificate Manager (CM) officers (CMOs), who are responsible for the administration of the Certificate Authority (CA).Officers with appropriate roles are able to create, configure, and remove the various entities that make up a CA.

For example, these tasks are managed in the AWB: 

  • Initiate creation of CA keys and CAs
  • Implement CA policies, defining how certificates should be issued, etc.
  • Configure distribution rules for certificates and revocation lists
  • Manage officer roles and define officers
  • Audit functions: read request log and CIS log
