Users and roles are used to manage permissions in Smart ID Identity Manager. Users and their permissions for login procedures, data access and activities (processes) are managed in Identity Manager Admin and used in Identity Manager Operator. Permissions can be assigned either via roles or to individual users. Roles can be assigned either to individual users managed in Identity Manager Admin or to user groups in an external LDAP directory service.

Configure users and roles
Permissions can be viewed and edited (that is, assigned and withdrawn) from two different perspectives:
- From all Identity Manager objects: "Who has access to a resource?"
