*D-TRUST cards 5.1 Standard/Multi, 5.4 Standard/Multi mandates the secure messaging protocol PACE to communicate with the card, hence specific support between the reader and the smart card middleware software has to be implemented to leverage the secure PIN pad part of the reader. Using the keyboard of the laptop/computer should still work.
