Introduction

Nexus is proud to announce the availability of Nexus Personal Desktop Client 5.1. This release consists of new features and bug fixes.

This article includes updates for 5.0.

Main new features

Added minidriver component

The minidriver component of Nexus Personal Desktop Client implements a Microsoft smart card minidriver. It is a simpler alternative to a legacy cryptographic service provider (CSP). Read more in Minidriver component.

Unsupported Personal plugins included

Browsers no longer support NPAPI and ActiveX Personal plugins therefore they have been removed from the installation.

Personal GUI window is opened automatically at startup

Initially startup Personal GUI window state was dependent on the window_state variable of the config file. Now Personal GUI will always start as hidden in the system tray and window state will longer be configurable as the config variable support is removed.

Sign and Auth dialogs in Plugout hangs

An issue with inserting a smart card plugout, that the Sign and Auth dialogs could hang for a split second, has been fixed.

CardOS 4.x cards can not decrypt

Sometimes CardOS 4.x failed to decrypt because Key Usage was set in a wrong way. This has been fixed.

Exclusive reader mode is not working properly

When LockReader was set for exclusive mode, cycled errors turned up in the log. This has been fixed.

Unable to enter 12 digit PUK on PIN pad reader

The problem with not being able to enter a 12 digit PUK has been fixed.
