Encoding descriptions contain all definitions for the encoding of a smartcard. For example, initializing the chip, creating key pairs or writing certificates.

The encoding description is used by the credential management application (Smart ID Identity Manager (PRIME)) in conjunction with other applications like Nexus Card SDK and Smart ID Desktop App (Personal Desktop App).

Most of the information is specific to PKI cards. Together with Nexus Card SDK you can also encode various types of RFID cards in Identity Manager main client (PRIME Explorer).
