To solve the issue with the Tomcat vulnerability "Ghostcat", Nexus' customers must adapt their configuration.

A critical Tomcat vulnerability was identified with a CVSS-v3-Score of 9.8 of possible 10. The vulnerability can be used to extract configurations and secrets from the affected servers and allows remote code execution. The blind spot here is the Tomcat AJP port, by default on port 8009, which allows unauthenticated access to all Tomcat files.

Main new features in this release:

Removed Java for PKI encoding in PRIME Explorer
With this release, the last steps are made to remove Java from the clients: PKI encoding in PRIME Explorer is now also possible via Personal Desktop App.
Data Sync Proxy improved
The Data Sync Proxy, the PRIME component to sync data sources remote via HTTPS connections, has been improved. It can now be configured easily in PRIME Designer, and it is possible to set up the proxy per data source. You can now decide which data source that is connected in the local network and which shall go to a remote server.
New admin UI for PACS connector configuration
The Nexus PRIME PACS backend has a new configuration user interface. All PACS connector configuration can now easily be managed on an HTML5 frontend. You can establish the connections to new PACS system and also manage custom configuration parameters for each single PACS system in the UI.

Main new features in this release:

New encoding architecture for smart cards
A new encoding architecture for smart cards has been introduced. The (client side) Java Webstart-based "JPKIEncoder" is deprecated and replaced by a solution based on Personal Desktop App and Personal Messaging. The new PRIME Self-Service allows smart card encoding based on the new technology.
The new PRIME Self-Service is complete with new user interface
The new PRIME Self-Service is now completed and the old PRIME USSP (User Self-Service Portal) is deprecated.
New processes for Virtual Smart Cards (VSC)
A standard process for certificate renewal on VSCs has been added. This process is used to detect all certificates of virtual smart cards that will expire within the coming period. Also added is a standard process for VSC replacing. This can be used when a laptop is broken, stolen or replaced, and the same VSC as on the previous device, shall be used again.
By adding these two process, PRIME now includes all functionalities to do the full lifecycle management for VSC with the standard package.

Main new features in this release:

Virtual smart card functionality
The new Windows 10 Smart ID Desktop App introduces a Virtual Smart Card (VSC) functionality. Nexus PRIME provides standard workflows for VSC based on Nexus Personal.
New PRIME Designer user interface
Identity Manager Admin is now a pure HTML5 application and the old webstart Designer is no longer available in PRIME 3.9. This means that PRIME Designer will now run on each up-to-date web browser without requiring a local Java. The usability of PRIME Designer is also improved in several areas.
New User Self-Service Portal
With this release a brand new PRIME User Self-Service Portal is introduced. It contains updated technology, brand new look and feel, simplified configuration and improved usability.

Main new features in this release:

Data sync proxy introduced
With this release, PRIME gets a new component called DataSync Proxy, to be used when connecting from PRIME as a cloud service to third party sources (for example via LDAP, JDBC, or file), that is typically hosted in the customers environment.

Nexus GO Cards integrated
With this release, it is possible to connect PRIME to Nexus GO Cards to order cards as a service. This means that PRIME customers now can choose to print and encode cards with local card printers or via the Nexus GO service.

PRIME goes Docker
Starting with this release, PRIME will also be available as a Docker container. All PRIME applications, Explorer, Designer, Tenant, and USSP, will be provided as a separate Docker. Nexus is using Kubernetes as reference platform for Docker and will soon provide all releases in an Azure Registry.

Nexus is proud to announce the availability of Nexus PRIME 3.7.

With PRIME 3.7 we introduce the first standard use cases for Mobile PKI with Nexus Personal Mobile (PM). We have now the possibility to activate a new PM profile via QR-Code and also to enroll certificates to PM. Certificates can be authentication and signing certs but also encryption certificates, including key backup and key recovery. Communication with PM will be done via the PM Backend (called 'Hermod Server'). For requesting certificates, our existing standard PKI connectors (for example, to CM) will be used.
With this release, also the Batch Synchronization module is introduced.It provides an easy-to-use user interface in PRIME Designer and an automated execution and status view in PRIME Explorer.
With this release, all PRIME system certificates (for example, for field encryption, config signing or history signing) can be stored in a Hardware Security Module (HSM).
