Create asset

This article describes how a Workplace asset administrator creates an asset in the Workplace package in Smart ID Identity Manager.

Step-by-step instruction

Create asset

  1. In Identity Manager Operator, in the Quick search drop-down list, select Workplace asset.

  2. Click Create asset.

  3. Enter Asset data.

    1. Add a Name.

    2. Select a Category and optionally add a Description.

  4. Optionally, in Asset notifier, add a mail box that shall receive emails about any changes to the asset.

  5. Optionally, in Asset owners, add the persons that are responsible for the asset.

  6. Click Next to proceed with the process or Cancel to close the process.

  7. Search for and select a certificate profile to enroll to the asset. Depending on the enrollment protocol, follow the instructions below:

For P10 there are no steps involved at this stage. See Enroll profile for more information. 

Enter certificate data and click Next to create the asset. For more details, see Enroll profile. 

  1. Enter data in Certificate data:

    • Common name (Required)

    • DN qualifier

    • Organization (O)

    • Organizational unit (OU)

    • Locality (L)

    • State (S)

    • Country (C) For example, SE or DE (Required)

    • Serial number

    • IP address

    • URI

    • Object SID

    • User principal name

    • DNS (Required if blacklist/whitelist entries exist in the certificate profile)

  2. Click Next.

Enter certificate data and click Next to create the asset. For more details, see Enroll profile. 

  1. Enter data in Certificate data:

    • Common name (Required)

    • DN qualifier

    • Organization (O)

    • Organizational unit (OU)

    • Locality (L)

    • State (S)

    • Country (C) For example, SE or DE (Required) 

    • IP address

    • URI

    • Object SID

    • User principal name

    • DNS (Required if blacklist/whitelist entries exist in the certificate profile)

  2. In ACME Registration data:

    • HMAC Key (read only)

  3. Click Next.

Enter certificate data and click Next to create the asset. For more details, see Enroll profile.

    • Common name (Required)

    • DN qualifier

    • Organization (O)

    • Organizational unit (OU)

    • Locality (L)

    • State (S)

    • Country (C) For example, SE or DE (Required) 

    • Serial number

    • IP address

    • URI

    • Object SID

    • User principal name

    • DNS (Required if blacklist/whitelist entries exist in the certificate profile)

  2. Click Next.
