Patch Certificate Manager

What is included in a CM service release

  • Only the latest patch is available for download

  • The latest patch contains all content released in previous patches accumulated into one patch

A service release can contain one or more of the following items:

  • cm-service-release-X.Y.Z.jar

  • PGWY.war

  • CM clients

  • Associated README and RELEASE texts

  • New configuration parameters and instructions on how to apply them

How to patch the CF server

  1. Extract the provided cm-service-release-X.Y.Z.jar from the service release distribution and copy it to any directory on the host running the CF service.

  2. Execute the jar file to show usage instructions:
    sudo java -jar cm-service-release-X.Y.Z.jar
Example execution to upgrade on a linux based host:
    sudo java -jar cm-service-release-X.Y.Z.jar upgrade -p /opt/cm/server

The service release tool will automatically create a backup of the current version before upgrading. If the patch needs to be reverted then the service release tool comes with a rollback command.

On a linux based host it might be required to manually reset the permissions after running the service-release tool.

How to patch the PGWY

  1. Extract the provided pgwy.war from the service release distribution and copy it to the webapps directory in your tomcat installation.

  2. Restart tomcat to ensure that the war file has been correctly deployed.

How to patch the CM Clients

  1. Extract either the linux or windows clients folder from the distribution depending on what host the clients will run on.

  2. Uninstall the current client installation and follow the installation procedure as usual.
