This article describes how an operator deactivates an active virtual smart card for a user in Smart ID Identity Manager. The Deactivate virtual smart card use case is called automatically if a user gets deactivated, reactivated or locked. See, for example, Deactivate user. But it can be also used to just set the virtual smart card to inactive.

This use case is disabled by default. To enable it, see Enable the Deactivate virtual smart card use case.

Prerequisites

 Prerequisites
  • The virtual smart card is in state "active"

Step-by-step instruction for the operator

 Log in to Identity Manager Operator
  1. Log in to Identity Manager Operator with your user account.
 Deactivate virtual smart card
  1. In the Quick search drop down list, select Virtual smart card
  2. Select Virtual smart card from the drop-down list and search for and select an active virtual smart card.
  3. Click Deactivate virtual smart card under "What do you want to do".
  4. Click Next to deactivate the virtual smart card.
